This Privacy Policy describes how Koni ("we", "our", or "the app") handles your information when you use our Android application available on Google Play. Koni is a paid application sold at a fixed price.

Data Collection

Koni does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data to us or any third party. The app contains no analytics SDKs, no crash reporting services (such as Firebase Crashlytics), no advertising SDKs, and no telemetry of any kind. All code runs locally on your device.

Network Communication

Koni acts as a local server on your device, enabling a desktop companion application on the same Wi-Fi network to communicate with your phone. All communication occurs exclusively over your local area network (LAN):

• Device discovery — Your device broadcasts your phone model name and local IP address as a UDP packet to your local network so the desktop app can find it. This broadcast never leaves your home or office network.
• File, media, contact, and app data — When you use the desktop companion to browse or transfer files, photos, videos, music, or contacts, that data is served directly from your device over your local network. No data is uploaded to any cloud server or external service.

Permissions

Koni requests the following permissions strictly for the features they enable. Permissions are requested at runtime (on Android 6.0+) only when the relevant feature is used:

• Storage (Photos, Videos, Audio, Files) — To browse, transfer, and manage media and documents on your device.
• Contacts — To read, add, edit, and delete contacts from the desktop companion.
• Wi-Fi & Location — To discover the desktop companion on your network and obtain your local IP address. Location is used only for Wi-Fi SSID scanning as required by Android.
• Camera — Optional; used for photo-related operations.
• Notifications — To show a persistent foreground service notification so the app can stay connected to the desktop companion.
• Install unknown apps — To install APK files transferred from the desktop companion.
• Battery optimization exemption — To maintain a stable background connection.

Third-Party Services

Koni uses no third-party services that collect data. The open-source libraries used by the app (such as AndServer, Glide, Gson, EventBus, and others) operate entirely locally and do not transmit any data off-device.

Data Security

Because all data stays on your device or your local network, no data is at risk of exposure from our servers. We recommend using a secured Wi-Fi network to prevent unauthorized local access. The app also provides an optional password-protected connection for additional security.

Children’s Privacy

Koni is a paid utility application not directed at children under 13. We do not collect any personal information from any user, including children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated “Last updated” date.
